Big props to Chase for putting this together. Not only is it well written, but it's gotten me BEYOND hyped for this game.

Great preview. One note: it's dated 2007 on the first page. ;)

I expect open beta to happen... oh maybe in two months or so? Just judging by the what is happening right now and what the devs have said.

If you submitted your e-mail over a month ago you should probably submit it again... they decided not to invite anyone else and then decided closed beta would last a little longer so all the old invitations got lost.... or so i understand it.

One thing no one has written about is everybody doing the Beta at present, my self included, are extremely helpful to each other in the game. It makes the game a fairly team effort to get up levels, but everybody is having a blast in the Beta. Can't wait for it to open up to all you guys, the more the merrier.

Yeah, the community in the game right now is more or less unbeatable. I hope it can keep the same spirit as we go into open beta.

That sounds pretty rare. No one I know online helps people out that much. Of course, most of my experience online lately is on XBox Live. Maybe on the PC things are a bit different.

This brings me back to Diablo II though. Everyone would help you out with all of your Baal, Mephisto or whathaveyou runs...until the items dropped. After the items dropped, people went absolutely bonkers. Of course the guy that got the drop would actually drop from the server, and everyone was waiting around asking what the hell the purple item was.

No one ended up knowing, and people got blamed for cheating and using whatever type of bots. It just sucked. I really hope that kind of stuff isn't there in Mythos. According to Chase's preview, it shouldn't be in there, but we'll see I suppose.

The one exception I can think of was running a character through the game. Sometimes you could find some really nice people that would stay with you and take you to all the waypoints you needed in the game. But then again, there were those who were only in it for that fabled Stone of Jordan...

It's really impossible to have those loot accusations, since everyone's loot spawns only for them. You don't split it with anyone. It's kind of hard to explain, but if you ever played Guild Wars, for a long time it was set up so a certain number of items would spawn, let's say 100 items. Then if you partnered, 50 of those items were locked so only you could get it, and 50 to the other person. In groups your percentage got smaller, although the number of items increased a little bit as the group got larger. In Mythos it is more like everyone always has their own set of 100 items that would drop.
