I thought it would be fun for everyone to tell who your 2008 Tiger is ... you should pick a player and give a reason why he is your Tiger. Let's see who the most popular cat on the team is!
My Tiger is Justin Verlander.
He's my Tiger because he just blew me away in his rookie season with his arm, control, and composure. The guy has a live arm and he pitches like a seasoned vet. And when he got that No-Hitter ... it sealed the deal for me. That's why a have a #35 uniform and wear it with pride!!!

It's really scary to say, but you and I think alike Mike. As I was listening to the show this very morning, I said to myself, "Self, who, for those pod jocks, is their Tiger. Mine is, and not just becasue of the outreach in the offseason, Curtis Granderson. I think he is one of the best lead off men in MLB. I like his patience in the box, his speed, and his defense. Some of the most amazing defensive plays last season were made when Granderson was laying out to catch a fly, that for most any other centerfielder, would have dropped for a base hit. He is my Tiger and I have been dropping hints to my wife that when the birthday comes up, I want a Granderson jersey...maybe she can drop hints to my mom and dad for one. Or I will just have to buy one myself. Although, right now on my computer desktop is the sweet pic of Verlander throwing a pitch and the words "No-Hitter" at the bottom...here is the link. http://detroit.tigers.mlb.com/det/fan_forum/det_wallpapers.jsp Check it out on the bottom of the page.

My Tiger is still Brandon Inge and will be as long as he is in the old English D. Curtis Granderson has jumped way up on my list. He is 1A right now. The man is not only an amazing ball player but also and amazing person. This is the kind of guy I want representing my Tigers.

I love GRanderson as well, but I am going with Magglio as my Tiger. I am hoping for another great year from this guy. And this has nothing to do with the fact that my girlfriend calls him Maggy just to annoy me.
What I really want is Zumaya to come back strong and start throwing the heat. If he can do that, I will most likely rethink my decision.
