You guys are all way off. Chase is actually waiting for a couple DVD’s he ordered online.
The first is the collector’s addition of his favorite movie, Operation Dumbo Drop. In which a quirky young elephant is delivered to a southern Vietnamese village by, what has been argued, the 90's Rat Pack: Danny Glover, Ray Liotta, and Dennis Leary.
His second delivery is his favorite highlight film, Two Hands On It, Please? 1986 had some amazing double-handed high, and low, 5's. This film is a collection of the greatest double-hand high/low 5’s the 1986 MLB season had to offer!
Sorry, Chase. I had to spoil it...

6 Days and counting... And Wil's guess for the win! Although Brando's guess was really funny. Who even remembers that movie? To start the hype, and hopefully stimulate people's imaginations, I'll post something new here each day for you guys. First, and most importantly, is the Sporepedia: www.spore.com/sporepedia#qry=allEach of these pictures is a creature, so far created mostly just by Maxis people. If everything I have heard so far is true, the creatures are contained in the .png files. I just downloaded one, and it was only 29 kilobytes, so it should be easy to download lots of new creatures without taking up a lot of space. Go check out some of the stuff on the site! This guy wins for the most unusual creature of the day:

I've got to admit, Brando's comment about Operation Dumbo Drop is classic. I don't know how you come up with this stuff, but it's amazing. And if high fives are involved, I think any movie is OK with me.
Spore Creature Creator is a MUST buy IMHO. I think it's gonna be amazing just to see how far you can take your imagination. The question remains though, who will make the most badass creature?

5 Days and a scattering of hours remaining.... We should have a contest for who can make the most bad-ass creature with the free editor (It has 25% of the parts of the full version). Today's video is.... Robin Williams plays spore! He tested out the editor over a year ago (might even have been two) and it was really funny. Go check it out: www.youtube.com/watch?v=V5TXEUiR1Xk(Keep in mind, the version of this editor is pretty old now, so it will look different from the current videos)

You can get it online and get 5 dollars off the final game as well (from either Amazon or the EA online store). I'm waiting until the final game before I try the full editor, because I want to experience finding new parts in the game for the first time. The demo editor with 25% of the parts should be fun enough until then.
Unless of course the demo convinces me to get the full thing. It IS only ten bucks... and then has a five dollar discount. My lunch costs that much.

And because I STILL have too much time to sit here and play with the forums at work... 4 Days (and those excess hours) remaining! Today's video is the FIRST Spore video, done all the way back at the Game Developer's Conference 2005. This video first got me hyped, and although lots has changed since then, it really shows what they want to do with the game. The explanation for how they can compress these creatures and planets to fit into tiny .png files is pretty interesting... in a nerdy kind of way that you all might like. Finally, there are some things in the game that have been taken out since this version, but have more or less been promised to return in future expansions. Those things include a stage between Cellular and Creature, which is basically the Underwater stage (the original goal was to evolve enough to get onto land)... there were also true flying creatures (right now they only have a lesser kind of flying where you have to land sometime, and can't just roost in trees or anything), and underwater creatures. Originally they planned to have the option to make a completely underwater civilization as well, and colonize your ocean with the same kind of domed cities that you use to colonize outer space. The video is an hour long, but it's still a good watch: video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-262774490184348066&q=sporeAlso... for your entertainment and to push how powerful the editor will be, I present to you... the Bicycle Creature

Okay - we're all jealous, Chase. You win. We don't have any DVD's coming in the mail, and thanks for rubbing it in.
You know, just because I spoiled your "surprise", doesn't mean you have to go and up the anti. Yeah - you know what I'm talking about.
After reading my spoiler, Chase became enraged and hell-bent on making the pot richer. So, he tacks on 30 Odd Foot of Grunts' first album, "Clarity". As we all know, this is Australian native, Russell Crowe's, ultra successful jam band. So thanks for adding salt to the wound, Chase...
Crowe's band crushed all other sales by selling a pants-crapping 156 copies in the first week. That's funny Chase waited this long to buy. Maybe he's 3.O.F.o.G band wagon hopper...

I'll be the first to admit that I don't understand what that's getting at, but Russell Crowe is only good for singin', sailin' and fightin' 'round the world.

"30 Odd Foot of Grunts" is Russell Crowe's band, as we all know. After I spoiled Chases suprise, he order their CD "Clarity", in an attempt to keep the "suprise" going. He knew everyone would be jealous when he finally announced the news, but unfortunately for him, the cat is out of the bag yet again.
And the side note is true. "Clarity" sold an impresive 156 copies in it's first week, debuting at number 10,356,434 on the charts.
