It looks like it is almost official. It has been all over the radio here and they are supposed to officially make the announcement before the Blackhawk Convention in a week or two. www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/2008/07/red_wings_game_planned_at_wrig.htmlI might think about going to this, since my sister wants to go and she apparently knows a bunch of Wings fans in Wisconsin and Chicago who would want to go to as well. Normally, the idea of freezing at Wrigley on New Year's day isn't the most appealing idea for me.

Has anyone (jonwings) had a chance to look into tickets on this. The only place that I was even able to find them was on Stubhub. They ranged from $299 each to $25000 (yes, that is the correct number of zeros, twenty five thousand dollars).
Jon, do you know any more about tickets, have they even offically went on sale. I will be travelling back from Michigan to South Dakota right about New Years, and my wife actually told me that if I could find tickets at a reasonable price that we would go. I still think that it would be cool to go, no pun intended. And even better if the "fellas" could make it too. Still think that would be sweet!!!

They had some news on this recently. I believe there are around 42,000 seats at Wrigley. Supposedly, half of which will be available ot Blackhawk season ticket holders and then a portion will go to Cubs and Red Wings season ticket holders. They are saying there will probably only be 1,000 - 2,000 tickets available to the general public when all is said and done. If you can get them when they first go on sale the prices aren't too bad, $75, $225, and $325, but the chances of being able to get them at that price is going to be slim. My guess is that it going to be hard to find tickets for less than $300 - $400 a pop, but who knows, you could get lucky. I would pay special attention to nhl.com as they will be the ones selling the tickets. I do not think they have said when they are going to go on sale for the general public yet, but i have to figure it will be soon.

Once again it looks like the Red Wings can beat anyone when they really feel like showing up. With the Hawks getting closer to them in the standings, they squashed them 4-0 and beat up on the 15 year old Kane and then trounced them after coming back from yet another 2 goal lead against the Hawks. With the way the first period went I was afraid the refs were going to try to steal this one for Chicago, but after the 1st they put the whistles away and let both teams play.
How awesome is Dats? He has been one fire lately. and how about the line of Hossa/Hank/Hudler with 3 points a piece.
Here is hoping the Wings start showing up for every game, not just the ones with teams close to.ahead of them in the standing.
Happy New Year!!!!
