I'm not exactly sure what to think of the NXE yet. I downloaded it yesterday, and it took a while, but I was watching Heroes at the time, so I didn't care.
What surprised me was the avatar system. I thought I would hate it from the get-go, but it had vampire teeth as an option, so I had to make a goofy character. I'll probably make myself soon, because it's extremely easy, but for now I just like the fact that these avatars have 100 times the customization options of a Nintendo Mii.
Switching from the blades to whatever they have now is going to take some time. There were a lot of things I was looking for but couldn't find easily. Luckily, if you know what you're doing it's LEAGUES faster than the old system. And the party thing, we needed that badly. It's too bad that it took this long for it to actually come to fruition.
Also, XBL seems to be accepting my debit card again, so that's a plus.
I'll mess around with it more later, but for now, I'm optimistic.

I was messing around with this thing last night before and after my Fallout 3 session ... and besides the "Too Cute For Words" avatars ... I'm really impressed with the format.
Team Chat is going to be great ... when we can all get on XBL at the same time that is.
The Netflix thing is going to make me get a netflix account ... so congratulations on that one.
The little things are amazing. Being able to see DLC for a game in categories rather than a list is terrific.
And Chad ... you notice how FAST everything was?

I noticed how much quicker things are now, and I REALLY like that. In fact, in the old update that never happened, that and party chat were all that I cared about. Now they're both here.
Sweet boobies eh boys?
Still though, this thing is going to take some getting used to.

I honestly had to read the thread to understand what NXE was. So I had to vote that way too.

Yeah, the NXE is awesome, but that's cool if you don't have a 360. Even though there's no excuse at a $200 price point. I mean c'mon guys.
The weird thing is that I'm not entirely all about the 360 anymore, but it's cheaper and CERTAINLY better than the Wii. The back library of games is definitely worth it, and now at bargain prices.
...there it is, all the reason you need.

pwn PSN? PLEASE tell me how? PSN allows for multiple users to download the same game, has no yearly fee, and pretty much offers most of the same functionality as Live...at no cost whatsoever. The NetFlix thing is another battle. I don't want to hear about that. Speeds depend on where you live, and ever since they redid the store, it's easy to navigate.
When you actually buy something as well, you see exactly how much it costs, and you don't have to buy points...you just pay for what you want.

hmm, Improved navigation, it will have both Highlander and Final Fantasy XIII, faster online than ps3, and a decent price point --especially with the chance of a holiday season or after sale. I might have finally decided which system win the battle for my next gen choice....
plus the PS3 model I wanted with the 4 USBs and backward compatability is no longer produced.

I wish I caould get one of these. I want a 360, but can not afford one at this time. With having 3 kids and another on the way, the $200 price tag is still out of my range.
If you all want too pool together and purchase one for me, I would gladly accept it. LOL

If this is a "what console is better all-together" argument, it really is tough to say.
The 360 has so many great games, good online support (even if it comes at a cost), and I actually like that there is no 6-axis crap with the controller. I can't stand that little last-minute add-on that Sony pulled. Not only is the online support good, but the games on the XBLA are far superior to what is available for the PS3. There are tons of original games out there that you can only get on 360 that could very well be sold as disc-based games. Luckily they aren't though, since the 360 is probably as loud as that 747 taking off a few blocks from your house. The biggest fault to the system is that sadly terrible engineering has lead to 40% of the 360s owned on our show to red-ring and make babies cry.
The PS3 has a good amount going for it too though. I'm convinced that it's the best blu-ray player on the market, and it ALWAYS comes with a hard drive. The games are slowly but surely getting better, and in Japan and America share the same region which makes life a LOT easier for me. Online is getting better, but the biggest fault there is that there's no headset bundled in with the system. I'd bitch about the no HDMI cord included thing as well, but if you're not retarded you can pick those up online for all of $7. The biggest thing that I've come to enjoy about my PS3 though has been how versatile it is. The Cross Media Bar is one of the coolest things Sony has ever thought up. Makes the 360's new dashboard look like jumbled crap by comparison. The console has a D-pad that's actually usable, but a dual-analog setup that would make you cringe when playing an FPS. Finally, constant firmware updates have made this one of the best DVD upscalers as well. It's hard to argue with the technology under the hood.
There's much more to say, but I think that overall the PS3 is a much better buy IF you like HD movies. Coupled with a $20 Bluetooth remote, the PS3 is as previously stated, one of the best (if not THE best) blu-ray players on the market. Plus is plays games.

PSN just as good as XBL? I'll settle this. Chad ... when's the last time you played a game online on the PS3?

PSN just as good as XBL? I'll settle this. Chad ... when's the last time you played a game online on the PS3? I played Little Big Planet online, but to be honest it was one of the only times that game was any fun. Not having a headset is a big setback, but I have to give credit where credit is due. It's free, and you can play online with your friends. Now if we all didn't have the extra cash to pay for XBL, I think we'd migrate to PSN without any complaint. That being said, the XBLA just has too many great games to dismiss. Castle Crashers is probably my favorite release of the year. That or Braid, which even though I only played it once, it was a hell of an experience. BTW, back on topic, the NXE is getting more and more comfortable for me, and I'm really liking the interface now that I sort of know how to get to things without too much of a hassle. Again, with time, this'll get even better. The speed alone is amazing. Right up there with the PS3's XMB.

Yeah, it aint good, I'll tell you that much.
For what I played online, I never had connection issues, but Andrew my neighbor had a ton. The moderation thing in my opinion is that it's OVER-moderated. They take down all these amazing levels that people made (the reason I wanted to play the game in the first place), and you're left with crap.
