Dexter
Derek told me about it, and its absolutely amazing. Now in its third season, you'd think it would start to get stale. However, this seems to be the only show worth watching each and every week this fall. Heroes and Prison Break have gotten unbelievable crappy, but Dexter just keeps bringing the hits.
Get hyped, and watch that motha!

What about people outside the US in TV-less places like Africa? You just said their lives aren't worth living... what are you, Eric?
(This seems like the day for attacking Derek... I wonder how long I can stay this month's flavor at this rate.)

On a side note, I'll probably check it out once I have the chance.

The Wire
Even though it is over, I picked up the 5th season to watch again at the library and it is still awesome. The worst season of the Wire is still better than 99% of anything else on TV.

I still suggest checking out the Sci-Fi Channel series "Eureka" (Or "A town called Eureka" for out British fans... right). The first season is by far the best, but it is all pretty good. I am waiting for them to do the second half of Season 3 now.

I've had SO many people tell me to watch The Wire. Apparently it's just gotta happen.

Excellent, everyone should watch The Wire. One quick bit of advice, when you start watching it give yourself a good chunk of time to get into it. There is so much information and so much going on that it can get tough to sort though, but by the time you get to episodes 5 - 7, everything starts coming together and you see how awesome the show is. Once you know how the show works you are going to want to watch seasons 2 - 5 as fast as you can.
Another good show was Sleeper Cell. The first season was really good, while the 2nd wasn't quite as good. It was another Showtime show. I was watching this on DVD a couple years ago over the holidays when we had a bunch of people over and I was getting up early and staying up late just so I could get through season as fast as I can. It is another show that when you get to a certain point you are going to want to watch the rest of it as fast as you can.
And of course there is the new Battlestar Galactica which is crazy good.

Yeah, from what I here on the podcast, I would half expect Chad to give up on it after a couple of episodes, that is why I threw out the suggestion.
If you can make it through the 1st season (13 episodes I think) you are going to love it. I still cheer anytime I see any of the actors from the show other places, since all the actors were so perfect in there roles. I do not do that for any other show.
It took me a while to get into Battlestar. I watched the mini and originally thought it was crap so I decided I wasn't going to watch the series. Eventually after hearing from everyone how great it was I gave it a 2nd chance and now I absolutely love it. The last half of season 4 cannot come soon enough.

Battlestar Galatica is amazing. I think I may be the only podjockey that has seen almost every episode (still have yet to watch this current season, which is its final). Amazingly it still fits for me in this category because every time I watch it is because I rent the DVD season thru BB online and never actually watch it when it is new. It is what is gets for being on SciFi .. i never usually scroll up to that channel, let alon know their lineup.
The best comedy that you guys arent watching .... How I met Your Mother (friends for a new generation) Also, 30 Rock .... I want to give Tina Fey babies!
P.S. I didnt count scrubs or the Office since I think most of you watch those shows

I second How I met Your Mother, but the show I really like on Monday nights, but hardly have time to watch is Big Bang Theory. That show cracks me up like nothing else. That whole Rock - Paper - Scissors - Lizard - Spock thing they had going on last week was classic.

And the new American Life on Mars is pretty good. The original British version is a nearly perfect 16 episode story.

is that the show that someone (it was either Eric or Chad) was saying was stupid?
I wanted to check that out and judge for myself.
Also, the BEST tv show that none of you are wathing is Twin Peaks, I hadnt seen it in like 6 years since a friend let me borrow his vhs tapes. Its one of the best shows EVAR, and the movies are good too.
oh, and Reboot, MST3K, and BlackAdder ...best shows available on youtube.

Blackadder is great stuff, especially the later seasons. Red Dwarf is another really good British sitcom.
The Doctor Horrible thing was ok, but I didn't think it was anything special.

This thread wasn't supposed to turn into "watch all these crappy shows", but apparently I'm a little late.
Although I'm sure everyone has their own opinions, I just wanted to jump in and again say that Dexter is the one show that I HAVE to watch. Out of the three main shows that I watch now (Dexter, Prison Break, Heroes), Dexter is the one I would pick if someone said I could only choose one.
Where in the hell you guys got Battlestar Dorktica and Dr. Tommy's Sing-along Homo-song I'll never know. You ain't even gonna catch me watching that crap.
The Wire however, sounds cool. I don't like that there's a 5 episode primer to get into it, but I'm sure I'll be cool.
And yeah, I need to watch more Flight of the Conchords because it's a lot funnier than I thought it would be. What really surprised me is that I liked it even though it wasn't REALLY American humor. The guys are from New Zealand, but from what I hear the comedy is very American if you were to compare it to other things in New Zealand.
And if anything has British humor in it, it's probably worth the crap Derek's dog took on the floor when we were in grade school. That is to say...I'm not all about it.
