Lately, I have been in the mood to play some good old fashioned board games, but all I seem to have around the house involve some sort of trivia. I'm looking for something that requires a bit of strategy and not so much my deep knowledge of useless facts. The game aisle at the local Target and Walmart do not seem to have what I am looking for. I'll probably hit the comic book store or the game store this week or next to see what I can find. Do you guys have any suggestions?

MONOPOLY! The game responsible for the most domestic violence incidents in the US. How DO those Parker Brothers sleep at night?

Monopoly is a good one but not exactly what I had in mind. I kind of got burned out on it while I was in college. We probably played that evey other day for 6 months. It was in our rotation of Hearts, Spades, Gin, and Yahtze.
I kind of want to go out and pick up the Battlestar Galactica board game, but I do not know how often I'll have a change to play it.

So Friday after work we went to the game store in the 3rd largest mall in North America and picked up Carcassonne (I hope I am spelling that right and I am too lazy to go to the kitchen and grab the box). I have been all over www.boardbamegeek.com for the past couple weeks looking at games and that one seemed like a good game and one that was good for 2 players as well. Basically what you do is lay out tiles forming a map. You can put people on the tile when you lay it down and that is how you get point. We played it last night and it was a lot of fun. I ended up losing because I had all my people on the board and couldn't get the right tiles to make points and get them off so I could use them again. The game took about 45min - 1hr to play. We are probably going to get in a game today. You can get all kinds of expansions that give you different types of tile to add to the game. The box we got came with the River expansion. So far I would definitely recommend the game.

It's a game that's on XBox Live Arcade. I think Eric bought it, I don't remember to be honest. It seems interesting, but I'd rather play Peggle. What can I say, you do what you're good at.
Speaking of, the other day some of my neighbors played D&D and I couldn't believe I actually saw what I saw. I don't know if anyone reading this is into that kind of game, but my god that game makes me look like I'm some sort of social Jesus or something. There's no wonder the kids that played that game are the ones that got made fun of in high school. I'm sorry, it's just too geeky for me. And I seriously thought that I was a dork...
