So when I was listening to the latest show and the guys mentioned the new Devil Rays stadium, I thought it would be interesting to see what everyone's favorite ballpark was.
Since I have moved around quite a bit, I have been to quite a few. I have only been just outside Comerica Park once and if I ever went to the original Tiger Stadium I was so little I do not remeber it. Here are my top 5
5) Wrigley Field - While the ballpark look awesome and area around the park is hopping, it is not one of my favorites. I am 6'4'' so I need a little bit of leg room and there is none at Wrigley and there are tons of seats where you do not have a good view of the game. The old ballpark has a lot of charm, but you get the sense it could collapse around you at any minute. It think everyone should catch a game there, but I think it says something, that I have lived around Chicago for close to 8 years and I have only gone to 2 Cubs games.
4) US Cellular Field - It does not quite have the personallity of Wrigley, but things I do not like about Wrigley, I like about US Cellular. All of the seats are good and I can actually sit and watch the game comfortably.
3) The Ballpark at Arlington - I went there not to long after it opened and I thought it was a really nice park. It had that old time ballpark feel, with all the nice modern comforts a person would want. I just remember really enjoying the Ballpark.
2) Jacob's Field (or whatever they are calling it now) - This is a really cool park. It does help that the first time I went there the Tigers won. Like the Ballark at Arlington, it has that old time feel but is a pretty modern park. Plus, the ballpark is in a pretty good area downtown.
1) Miller Park in Milwaukee - THis is currently my favorite park. When they close the dome it is an event. Also, how can you complete with the sausage race. The way they designed the park it seems like you are right on top of the action. I always look for an excuse to catch a game up in Milwaukee.
I am hoping this year I might actually make it to Comerica Park to catch the Tigers. There is a good chance I might make it over to Pittsburg to check out PNC Park.
