So this is the Hockey version of Where is your favorite place to watch a Hockey Game. Again, I tend to travel a little bit to see the Red Wings so I have been to a bunch of different arenas.
5) Civic Arena, Pittsburg - This is one of those older arena, that they really need to get rid of. I remember being under the overhang in the lower bowl and it was hard to see all of the action. It is good thing the Penguins are finally getting a new arena.
4) Scottrade Center (Or whatever they are all it these days), St Louis. My opinion of this place might be influenced by the fact I caught the game there the day after the Tigers lost the World Series. That and the place was only half full. I was not that impressed.
3) The United Center, Chicago - I've seen a good number of Red Wings games there and the it has always been interesting. THose games against the Wings used to be so hype. THere was almost electricity in the hair, between the Let's Go Red Wings and Detroit Sucks chants. I tend to sit in the Upper Bowl and the view of the game has always been great.
2) Joe Louis Arena, Detroit - It is definitely not the best arena I have been too and if it was not the home arena of the Red Wings, I do not think I would have rated it this high. That being said I loved watching a game there.
1) Nationwide Arena, Columbus - I really liked this arena. It seemed like it was almost like a ballpark than a hockey arena. It is a cool place to watch a game. There were 3 levels, but from where I was sitting it did not look like there was a bad seat in the house. And it is the only arena where I remember them selling Jagerbombs. That has got to be good for something.
What does everyone else think?
