Ok, so I will start with my top 5:
5.) League of Their Own 4.) Little Big League (I really like this, I have it on my iPod) 3.) Rookie of the Year! 2.) For the love of the game (this was good) 2a.) Field of Dreams 1.) Major League
Hockey movie...that Jon Bon Jovi movie sucked. I quit watching it 30 minutes into it. Slapshot was awesome, I own all 3 Mighty duck movies, Mystery Alaska, and Miracle! Those are awesome! Not in any particular order.
I will make more coments later, I am listening as we speak...I am on lunch at work.

I cannot believe no one mentioned the Bad News Bears (the original Walter Mathau one). That movie is a classic. I'd have to think a bit on my top 5, but I thought The Bad News Bears was a glaring omission.
I second The Sandlot. That was pretty good movie.

That was not even one that I thought of. But I would agree that the Bad news bears (original) was a good one too. Sandlot was like number 6 for me.

To clarify mine from the show ...
1.) Major League 2.) League of Their Own 3.) Field of Dreams 4.) Sandlot 5.) The Natural
Cmon Wil ... seriously?? Little Big League and Rookie of the Year? RoY was the only reason I couldnt stand that actor in the American Pie movies. Let's not forget it has Gary Busey in it ... :/.
I will say that the first two Mighty Ducks movies and Miracle were GREAT movies with Miracle in my top ten favorite sports movies of all time ...

Yes Eric, I am serious. I didn't say that I like all aspects of the movie, Gary Busey would be a great example. But, the end after he loses his fastball and he is daring the guy to run, (hehehe) makes me laugh.
Here is what I will say, if you don't like it you can borrow Derek's umbrella. Just kidding.

I would consider The Karate Kid a sports movie since the climax of the movie is at the Karate Tournament and the fact that his movie has just about every sports movie cliche out there. I would not consider Bloodsport or Enter the Dragon as sports movies even though they have a sort of tournament.
One that I did not think of until I was driving to the train station this morning was Dodgeball. I think that one is somewhere in my top ten. I can watch that movie anytime it is on.

I can't believe i left 61* off my list on the show...great movie.
My top 5 baseball movies
5.) The Natural 4.) 61* 3.) Bull Durham 2.) Major League 1.) Field of Dreams
I am shocked that so many people leave Bull Durham off their lists...this movie is amazing! The Natural is also very good...way better then the Sandlot or Little Big League and Rookie of the Year.
Top 10 sports movies
10.) Rudy 9.) The Natural 8.) Hoosiers 7.) 61* 6.) Slapshot 5.) Miracle 4.) Bull Durham 3.) Major League 2.) Rocky 1.) Field of Dreams
Honorable mention: Mystery, Alaska, Remember the Titans, Glory Road, Rocky 2, Eight Men Out, Major League: Back to the Minors and Youngblood...ok those last 2 were for giggles.
It is rue that boxing in movies is waaayyyy better then real life. If rocky was a real boxer I would love the sport! Also, a note to jonwings, chess is not a sport, therefor Searching for Bobby Fisher...NOT A SPORTS MOVIE!

I've watched Chess on ESPN and its in the Sports Section of the paper so that makes it a sport. Now you are going to tell me those competitive eating shows they put on ESPN aren't sports either Plus, you are not going to find too many better "game" scenes then you will with that final match between the two kids at the end. As for Bull Durham and Slapshot, for that manner, I've watch both movies and liked them, but they never stuck with me and I have not had any real desire to watch them again. All the movies I put down hold up to repeated viewings. Even Karate Kid, but that is because it is kind of cheesy bad and hilarious to watch now. I do not think Bull Durham and Slapshot hold up, for me anyway. I can't believe I forgot about Hoosiers. THat is my new #10

Rocky Balboa was a really plesant surprise for me. It could have been so bad, but it ended up being a really good movie.
two more I forgot about that I do not see mentioned are Caddyshack and Chariots of Fire.
